A new 18U Bay Area Pirates team
Tryouts are for a new 18U team, built with the Pittsburgh Pirates and Bay Area Baseball, that will compete in the MLB Nike RBI Program. It is made to benefit young players from Bradenton and the surrounding Bay Area.

Founded in 1989 by former MLB player and scout John Young, RBI (Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities) was created to give young people in underserved communities the chance to play baseball and softball, build character, and stay engaged in a positive, team-oriented environment. Major League Baseball took over operation of the program in 1991, and in 2023, Nike became RBI's presenting sponsor.
Here in the Bay Area
Locally, Logan Wells serves as Director of the Nike RBI Program in partnership with Major League Baseball, bringing that same mission of access, mentorship, and development to players right here in the Bay Area.
