More than baseball.

Travel baseball has a way of quietly sorting kids into who matters and who doesn't, starters and everyone else; even before some of them are old enough to tie their shoes. That's not development. That's just picking winners early and hoping you guessed right.

We built Bay Area Baseball on a different bet: that every kid on the roster deserves real coaching, not just the ones who are already good. That a team wins as a team, not as nine individual stat lines hoping someone else covers for them. And that the people teaching a 10-year-old how to field a ground ball should be the same caliber of coach who once did it in front of 40,000 people, because kids can tell the difference between someone reciting a drill and someone who's actually lived it.

None of that works if the game stops being fun. The lessons that actually stick (showing up, trusting your teammates, handling failure without falling apart) only take root when a kid still wants to be there. Baseball is just the classroom, what we're really coaching is who these kids become.
