Tim Beckham was the first overall selection of the 2008 MLB Draft, taken by the Tampa Bay Rays out of Griffin High School in Georgia. He reached the majors in 2013 and played parts of eight big league seasons with the Rays, Baltimore Orioles, Seattle Mariners, and Minnesota Twins, finishing his professional career in 2022.

A middle infielder who came up through one of the most scrutinized draft classes in recent memory, Tim brings Bay Area players a first-hand perspective on the draft process, the grind of pro development, and what separates the players who last from the players who don’t. He is now based in the Tampa Bay area and works with BAPB athletes at The Spot Athletic Center.
